The committee headed by Rajya Sabha MP Ram Gopal Yadav on health and family welfare recommended the central government.
The age limit of free treatment under Ayushman Yojana should be 60 years. Also, the amount of Rs 5 lakh for treatment should also be increased to double Rs 10 lakh. Right now only 70 -year -old elders are getting the benefit.
The committee headed by Rajya Sabha MP Ram Gopal Yadav on health and family welfare has recommended this to the central government. So that more and more people can get the benefit of this health scheme.
The Central Government has recently expanded the Prime Minister Jan Arogya Yojana (ABPMJAY) on September 11 last year and covered 6 crore senior citizens of 70 years and above the age of 4.5 crore families under the AB-PMJAY VAN Vandana Yojana.

Ayushman Bharat is the world’s largest insurance scheme, which provides free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh to the country’s poorest 40 percent of the people in the country.
The central government launched this scheme in the year 2017 under the National Health Policy. However, many states including West Bengal are refusing to accept the scheme and are running their own plans in the state.
Under this scheme, treatment can be done in selected government and private hospitals across the country. 10 days before and after recruitment, there is a provision for payment under this scheme.

Ayushman scheme also covers chronic diseases. In a disease, the expenses before and after are admitted to the hospital are covered. The expenditure on transport is covered in it. All medical examination, operation, treatment are included in it. Under this scheme, more than 5.5 crore people have undergone their treatment so far.
