Indian -origin American astronaut Sunita Williams returned home on 18 March after spending nine months into space. After returning to Earth, on Monday, he faced the media for the first time and shared his nine months of experiences spent in space.
Sunita Williams said in her first interview after returning from the space that I would like to thank NASA, Boeing, SpaceX and all those associated with this mission to take us home. It has been almost two weeks since we returned to earth. Now we are being asked what we are doing? So let me tell you that we are preparing for new challenges. Preparing new missions. If I run three miles tomorrow, I can pat my back.
Sunita Williams said that we were in the new spacecraft for the first time. The mission for which we went to the space station, our entire focus was on fulfilling that mission. We did many types of space experiments. Never felt that we are stuck in space. We did not even have what is happening on earth? In a way, we were not moving around the world, but the world was revolving around us. If there was a continuous rotation flight coming to the space station, then we were sure that we would definitely return home.
Williams said that he stepped on Earth for the first time on March 18 after nine months. So she first wanted to hug her husband and pet dogs. Food is something that reminds me of the house. My father was a vegetarian, so when I reached home, I first ate a good grilled thing sandwich.
Due to being stranded in space, Williams said that it was an international space station program. We knew that things could be wrong, so we were ready for it. Many people were keeping an eye on the program. He knew what is the right time to return our return. We were waiting for the same decision, which is absolutely right.
Talking about his recovery, he said that experts are completely focused on our rehabilitation. Since returning to Earth, we are following the protocol mentioned by experts. Our recovery is slowly happening.
Sunita Williams says that we have learned the lesson of hope from the delay in our mission. We are learning from every small mistake so that we can do something better next time. Things happen in this way, we become more and better by learning. It is quite amazing how your body is adapting everything. When we came to earth for the first time, we started staggering. But changes start to appear within a few hours. The mind of a human being starts to understand the surrounding things.
He said that this mission has given me a lifetime lesson. We also had a chance in such a situation. It is not that we have lost any opportunity but I have got another chance. During this time I learned a lot. The reality is that when things are not happening according to you, then close your eyes and think that now what better you are waiting for.

Sunita Williams said that India is amazing. Every time we passed over the Himalayas, Buch Wilmer took incredible pictures of the Himalayas. The view of the Himalayas from space is fantastic. We felt as if the waves were rising and flowing downwards in India. There are many colors of India, when you go from East to West, the fleet of fishing boats on the banks there indicates that Gujarat and Mumbai come. It was amazing to see the Himalayas during the day. In India, a network of lights is seen from big cities to small cities, which seems incredible at night.
He said that she will definitely come to her father’s country India. He is excited about the Indian astronaut going on the Axiam mission. I hope that I can meet them at some time and we can share our experience with more and more people in India. India is a great country and amazing democracy which is trying to make its place in space.
