Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Tuesday (August 19, 2025) described the announcement of Justice Sudarshan Reddy’s candidature for the post of Vice President from the India alliance as a moment of pride for the Telugu public, especially for the people of Telangana. He said that this decision is going to increase the honor of the Telugu community.
The Chief Minister accused the NDA alliance of voting theft and making fun of democracy. He said that on the one hand there are wrong policies of NDA, on the other hand the India alliance is struggling to protect the constitution with the inspiration of Mahatma Gandhi.
Sudarshan Reddy does not associate with any party: Revanth Reddy
Reddy said that Justice Sudarshan Reddy is the son of Telangana, who comes from a farmer family, who has no relation with any political party. He is the chairman of an independent expert committee and his candidature is beyond politics. He has appealed to all the Telugu people to fulfill the responsibility of winning Justice Reddy.
The Chief Minister said that former Prime Minister P.V. This is the first time after Narasimha Rao, when a Telugu person has been nominated for a high position like Vice President. This is a matter of pride for Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Please tell that Narasimha Rao became the Prime Minister of India in 1991.
Time to forget political differences: Reddy
Revanth Reddy appealed to Chandrababu Naidu, KCR, Pawan Kalyan, Communist leaders and BJP MPs of both states to support Justice Sudarshan Reddy. He said that this is the time to forget political differences and unite.
The Chief Minister gave the example of 1991 and said that when P.V. Narasimha Rao was contesting as an MP from Nandyal, when NTR did not field a candidate against him and supported him. He called upon all parties to show such political understanding.

Reddy insisted that Justice Sudarshan Reddy’s victory is important not only for the Telugu community, but also for protecting democracy and constitution. He appealed to everyone to unite and take advantage of this historical occasion.
