The police have arrested former Union Minister Upendra Kushwaha from Darauli in Siwan. The name of the accused is Rakesh Kumar. Rakesh is also a supporter of Upendra.

Police interrogation said, ‘He was upset about Upendra Kushwaha’s politics in recent times. He felt that he could separate from the NDA. So he threatened with different numbers.

In fact, Kushwaha had informed on the social media x at 11:31 pm on Thursday night that ‘threatening gangster Lawrence Bishnoi Gang has been named’.

The Rajya Sabha MP wrote on social media x, ‘I got 7 consecutive threatened calls from mobile number +916305129156 and +91922956746 in the name of Lawrence Bishnoi gang between 8:52 and 9:20 pm tonight.

‘Mobile number +917569196793 from MMS/SMS at 8:57 pm, it was said that if you keep speaking on a particular party politically, then the consequences would have to be suffered. Things like finishing in 10 days were also said.

The former Union Minister of State has demanded to take cognizance of Patna SSP and take strict action against the culprits.

Upendra Kushwaha became the first MP in 2014

Upendra Kushwaha contested 9 times in his politics career, in which he has lost 7 times. He has won elections only twice. For the first time in 2000, as the candidate of Samata Party, he won from Jandaha assembly seat in Vaishali district and became MLA.

At the same time, for the second time in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, he won from Karakat seat and became an MP. However, in 2010 he became a Rajya Sabha MP and became a member of the Legislative Council in 2021.

Kushwaha separated from Nitish in 2005 and formed Samata Party

In 2005, separating from Nitish Kumar and formed his own party named Samata. The 2009 elections were also contested under the banner of this party. However, not a single of his candidates could save even bail.

In 2010, he joined JDU. In 2013, in 2013, separating from Nitish and formed a new party called RLSP. In 2014, he joined the NDA and contested elections. Won Karakat himself and became the Minister of State for Human Resources in the Modi government.

After 5 years, fought the 2019 election with the Grand Alliance, but fought from two places and lost from both places. In 2021, RLSP merged into JDU.

Once again separated from JDU and formed a new party named Rashtriya Lok Morcha in 2023. Currently, Upendra Kushwaha is a Rajya Sabha MP.

Purnia MP Pappu Yadav also threatened last year

Last year, Purnia MP Pappu Yadav was threatened with death. The caller described himself as a member of the Lawrence Vishnoi gang. The threatening man had also instructed Pappu Yadav to stay away from the Salman Khan case. He had said on the call, “Stay away from Salman’s case, we do both karma and scandal.”

The threatener claimed that ‘Lawrence Bishnoi is trying to talk to Pappu Yadav by shutting down the jammer by giving one lakh rupees per hour in the jail, but Pappu Yadav is not picking up the phone.’ However, Purnia police arrested an accused threatening and said that it was the close of the MP who had threatened.
