The hearing has been postponed in the Supreme Court on the demand of uploading information on the number of voters, the details of the gender, the voting percentage on the website. The Election Commission told the court that it has invited all the people to discuss this subject. On this, the court asked the petitioners to first talk before the Election Commission.

The petition of TMC leader Mahua Moitra and Association for Democratic Reforms has demanded uploading Form 17C on the website of the Election Commission, which has details of voting in every booth. It has been said in the petition that making this form public with complete information about voting in every center will bring transparency in the election process.
Senior Advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi and Advocate Prashant Bhushan, presented for Mahua Moitra, said that the information recorded in the form will be made public with the total votes counted in the EVM with the total votes counted in the EVM. These petitions pending since 2019 have been opposed by the Election Commission. The commission argues that every party’s polling agent is given a copy of Form 17C. The demand to upload Form 17C of each booth on the website is not practical. In the hearing held on Tuesday, senior advocate Maninder Singh, appearing for the Commission, said that the Commission is ready to listen to everyone.
Polling officers fill Form 17C under Conduct of Election Rules, 1961. In this, information like the total number of voters, details of gender, voting percentage is recorded. It has been said in the petition that due to the information recorded in this form, people will be able to get the facility of matching the total votes counted in EVM.

The court’s vacation bench had said that such an order cannot be given suddenly in the middle of the election. Detailed hearing is necessary for this.
