Supreme Court on Air Force: On Monday (June 16), the Supreme Court directed the Central Government and the Indian Air Force not to free the woman officer from service, which was refused to pay a permanent commission. A bench of Justice Ujjl Bhuiyan and Justice Manmohan cited the Supreme Court’s 22 -May order, in which similar instructions were given to the Center and the Indian Air Force on the plea of ​​Wing Commander Nikita Pandey and said that the same instructions will also be applicable in the case of Wing Commander Kavita Bhati.
‘Wing commander Kavita Bhati should not be relieved’
Without prejudice towards equality in the rights of the parties or equality in favor of the officer, the bench said that Wing Commander Kavita Bhati should not be relieved and allowed to remain in service until the next hearing. Short Service Commission Officer Bhati claimed that he was denied a permanent commission incorrectly.

The Supreme Court has set the hearing of the case before a regular bench on August 6, when matters related to the Indian Air Force will be heard. On May 22, the Supreme Court stopped the Center and the Indian Air Force from freeing Pandey, which was part of Operation Balakot and Operation Sindoor, but refused to pay a permanent commission.
Nikita Pandey alleged that she was discriminated against in giving permanent commission. On behalf of the female officer, senior advocate Maneka Guruswami said that Nikita is an expert fighter controller. He participated as an expert in the Integrated Air Command and Control System (IACCS).
