The government has appointed Gyanesh Kumar as the next Chief Election Commissioner on Monday. Rajiv Kumar retired as Secretary in the Ministry of Cooperation in January 2024 and was appointed as Election Commissioner in March 2024. A day after Rajiv Kumar retired on Tuesday evening, he will take oath as 26th CEC.
