Panaji: The Indian team has returned home after winning the Asia Cup. The players who have been selected for the Test series going on from October 2 have reached Ahmedabad, but in the meantime captain Suryakumar Yadav appeared in Goa. Where he met CM Pramod Sawant.
In this coastal state of India, all eyes were on him. He arrived for the inauguration of a private cricket stadium in South Goa district. Thousands of cricket fans gathered at the ‘1919 Sports Cricket Stadium’ located in the village.
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and Transport Minister Mauwin Godinho were also present at the inauguration ceremony. Later Sawant was seen bowling Suryakumar with a tennis ball, who played a shot over the audience.
Addressing the people, the Chief Minister invited the Indian captain to play a match in Goa.
Sawant congratulated the Indian team on winning the Asia Cup and also congratulated Suryakumar for giving the amount of victory to the Indian Army.
Talking to reporters, Suryakumar said that such stadiums are needed. The Indian captain remembered the time when he played a Ranji match against Goa. He said, ‘Goa’s team is doing well.’
Even though Suryakumar Yadav’s performance with the bat in the Asia Cup was not special, everyone is praising his captaincy. The way he used his bowlers, Team India always proved to be heavy on opponents.
