Swayamgati self driving auto: The country’s auto sector is going through a major change. Electric three-wheeler manufacturer Omega Siki Mobility (OSM) has launched the country’s first autonomous electric auto-rickshaw. The company has named it Swayamgati. This auto-rickshaw with a traditional auto design has been introduced in two versions. The price of its passenger version has been fixed at Rs 4 lakh (ex-showroom) and the price of cargo version is Rs 4.15 lakh (ex-showroom). Booking has started and the company claims that delivery will begin immediately.
What is special?
In Swayamgati, the company has given a capacity of 10.3 kwh capacity, which gives a range of up to 120 km once charged. This vehicle has been built keeping in mind the roads and traffic patterns of India. Therefore, a ground clearance of 200 mm has also been given in it. Advanced engineering has been done in this auto prepared for low-speed, high-density traffic areas, especially.

Trial and deployment
In the Phase 1 trial, Swayamgati completed a 3 km journey with 7 stops, where it showed live obstacle detection and passenger safety. Production plan
OSM has announced that 1,500 autonomous electric autos will be created in the next two years, so that the growing demand can be met. On the occasion of the launch, the company’s chairman Uday Narang said that, “Self-interest is not just a product, this is the future of Indian transportation. We are not chasing the world, but are leading them. This car proves that high-tech things like AI, Lidar and Autonomous Technology can now be made in India and can also be good for Indians.
