Jay Nei Delhi. India’s upcoming White-Ball tour can be rested for diplomatic reasons. The tour was scheduled to begin on August 17 between India Bangladesh. Which included 3 ODIs and 3 T20 matches. According to Halia report, the Indian team can be carried forward due to approval from the central government. According to the information reported by the AFP on Wednesday, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Media Committee Chairman Iftikhar Rahman said that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has indicated that the tour could be postponed.

However, the Indian Cricket Board has not yet commented on this development. Rahman said, “The tour is part of the ICC’s future tour schedule (FTP), so it is not an option to cancel it. But it can be reinstated by mutual consent.” Bangladesh is waiting for the approval of the Indian government. Recently there was diplomatic tension between Dhaka and New Delhi when Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was removed from power after a major rebellion in Bangladesh in August 2024.

ODI matches were to be held on this date:
India vs Bangladesh first ODI- 17 August Sher Bangla National Stadium, Dhaka
India vs Bangladesh second ODI- 20 August Sher Bangla National Stadium, Dhaka
India vs Bangladesh Third ODI- 23 August Matiur Rahman Stadium, Chittagong

T20 matches were to be held on this date:

India vs Bangladesh first T20 – 26 August Matiur Rahman Stadium, Chittagong
India vs Bangladesh second T20 – 29 August Sher Bangla National Stadium, Dhaka
India vs Bangladesh third T20– 31 August Sher Bangla National Stadium, Dhaka

This would have been the first international performance after Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli’s Test retirement. Both of them retired from T20 cricket after winning the T20 World Cup in Caribbean in 2024 and after that recently said goodbye to Test cricket. However, it remains to be seen whether the tour will join the team or not.
