Chief Minister MK Stalin said that the inauguration of the bridge will boost tourism.
The country’s first glass bridge has been completed on the banks of Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu. This 77 meter long and 10 meter wide bridge was inaugurated by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin on Monday evening.
With the construction of this bridge, tourists can directly reach the 133 feet high Thiruvalluvar statue from the Vivekananda Rock Memorial on the banks of Kanyakumari. The state government spent Rs 37 crore on this project.
Tourism officer of Kanyakumari said that there is sea below the glass bridge. Walking on the bridge feels as if we are walking on the sea. This arched shaped arch glass bridge has been designed to withstand the strong winds blowing on the coast.
CM Stalin, Deputy CM Udhayanidhi Stalin, state ministers and MPs walked on Kanimozhi bridge during the inauguration. After the inauguration, a laser light show was also organized on the statue of Thiruvalluvar.
