Telangana tunnel collapse rescue excise minister jupally krishna rao say

Telangana tunnel collaps: Eight laborers were trapped in Telangana’s Srisailam Left Bank Canal (SLBC) tunnel on 22 February 2025 due to the roof collapsed. Government, Army, Navy, NDRF and tunnel experts are engaged in rescue operations, but so far not all the workers have been successful in taking out.

Meanwhile, Telangana Excise Minister Jupalli Krishna Rao confirmed on Saturday (March 01, 2025) that the authorities had detected four out of eight laborers through radar. The minister said, “The location of four laborers has been received from the radar, it is expected that they will be taken out by Sunday evening.” The remaining four laborers may be stranded under the tunnel boring machine (TBM), which has made the rescue work even more difficult.

Teams of 11 agencies engaged in rescue operations
This complex rescue operation includes 11 expert agencies. The campaign is delayed due to debris and mud. The rescue team is trying to make way by cutting the tunnel boring machine (TBM). This is considered one of the most challenging rescue operations of recent times.

Opposition raised questions about delay in rescue operation
Opposition parties alleged that the government was delaying the rescue operations. To this, Minister Krishna Rao replied that the expert teams are trying their best, but the situation is very complicated due to mud and debris inside the tunnel.

Let us know that recently the Telangana government called Rat-Holl Minors from Uttarakhand, because they specialize in rescue work in narrow places. CM Revanth Reddy is constantly monitoring the rescue operation. At the same time, the ministers of Telangana are also taking stock of the situation. Now everyone’s eyes are on how long the trapped laborers can be taken out safely.
