England have not made any change in their playing XI for the second Test match against India. Due to fast bowler Joffra Archer Family Emergency, he did not become part of the team’s practice in Edgbaston on Monday. Archer is expected to join the team again before the second Test match starting from July 2. England, however, has decided to retain the playing XI, which won by 5 wickets in the first match of the Tendulkar-Anderson Trophy in Haddingley.
This right -handed fast bowler was not part of the England team in the first match played in the Leeds of this 5 -Test series. He was included in the England Test team last week. But Archer will have to wait now to be a part of the playing XI. The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) said on Monday, ‘Fast bowler Jofra will not join the practice session of England team in Edgbaston on June 30, on Monday, 30 June, due to emergency in the Archer family. He is expected to join the team again on Tuesday.

Archer has been struggling with elbow injury in the right hand for the last several years. He played his previous Test match against India in Ahmedabad 4 years ago. England defeated India by 5 wickets in the first match played in the Leeds of Tendulkar-Anderson Trophy. India scored 471 runs in their first innings while batting first after losing the toss in the match. In the first innings for India, captain Shubman Gill, vice -captain Rishabh Pant and Yashasvi Jaiswal played century innings. For England, Stokes and Tung took 4 wickets, while Bashir and Cars got 1 1 success.

In response, England scored 465 runs in their first innings. Oli Pope played a century innings, while Harry Brooke missed a century by 1 run. Ben Docket played a half -century innings, while Jamie Smith and Chris Woakes scored 40 and 38 runs respectively. Star bowler Jasprit Bumrah took 5 wickets for India. The famous Krishna dismissed 3 and Mohammad Siraj dismissed 2 players. India was all out by scoring 364 runs in their second innings and thus England got a target of 371 runs to win. The English team achieved this target by losing 5 wickets and took a lead of 1 0 in the five -match Test series.
