There has been an increase in violent incidents with non-Marathi speakers in Maharashtra. In Mumbai and Thane, non-Marathi citizens are being humiliated in the name of language and they are being assaulted. At Thane station, two Hindi-speaking people had to sit up after a fight with the Marathi-speaking person.
