In Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, 9 students living in Shekhar Hostel of Chandrashekhar Azad Agricultural and Technology University (CSA) found it expensive to install coolers without permission in the scorching heat. Due to which these students have been fined 10-10 thousand rupees. At the same time, questions have been raised on this action taken by the university administration.
In fact, the university’s student welfare presiding deity (DSW) conducted a surprise inspection of the hostel, and saw that many students are enjoying the cool air without running the cooler without permission. In such a situation, after inspection, the university administration has taken a tough stand and imposed a financial penalty of Rs 10 thousand on all nine students.

Permission has to be taken to install coolers in hostels
According to the administration, under the hostel manual, it is mandatory to get prior permission for installing coolers in the hostel. For which a fee of Rs 5000 has been fixed. This permission is valid every year from 1 March to 15 November.
Mukesh Kumar, responsible for the student welfare cases, said that these students had neither deposited the prescribed fee nor received permission from the administration. Despite this, he used cooler. This also put additional pressure on the power system of the hostel. Electricity has become very expensive, in such a situation, if 14-15 students run the cooler without permission, then the electricity bill will be very much.

The university gave this answer on fine
The names of students whose rooms were found without permission are as follows: Ankit Kumar, Siddhant Kumar, Rohit Kumar Jaiswal, Shiv Lakhan, Praveen Kumar Yadav, Arun Pratap, Ashwini Kumar, Suraj Singh and Jai Shukla. The university administration has clarified that even more strict steps will be taken on violation of rules in future, so that discipline and balanced use of resources can be ensured.
When the students of the hostel were talked about in the case, he said that it is not possible for us to fill such a huge amount of fine. Because all the students are from the middle class family. Our family is able to deposit our fees in some way. We come from far and wide and study here. By paying such a fine, we will have additional burden on us.
