Chief Justice of India (CJI) BR Gawai said on Tuesday (September 23, 2025) that his decision on bulldozer action has given him a lot of satisfaction as it deal with human problems. Supreme Court Justice Gawai and Justice K.V. Vishwanathan’s bench had compared Bulldozer Justice to a chaotic situation on November 13, 2024 and set guidelines for the country.

At a reception ceremony organized by an academic group of lawyers of the Supreme Court lawyers on Friday (September 19, 2025), CJI Gavai said that he had the opportunity to share his back with Justice Vishwanathan for about six months.

He said, ‘I think the decision related to bulldozers is one of the decisions that gave us excessive satisfaction. At the core of this decision, there were human problems and problems faced by humans. The family was being harassed only because its members are either criminals or perceived criminals.

CJI BR Gawai appreciated former Chief Justice

Chief Justice BR Gavai said, ‘Though the credit goes to him, but the equal credit for writing this decision should also be known to Justice Vishwanathan. The tenure of CJI does not affect justice administration.

The CJI said, ‘I do not think the tenure of the Chief Justice has a direct connection with the efficiency of the administration. We have been the best Chief Justice like Justice Lalit and Justice Sanjeev Khanna for two and a half months, who have left their mark and are known for their contribution to justice and (justice) administration. He made his best attempt to improve the betterment of justice and improve the infrastructure of the judiciary across the country.

He said, “I have tried every moment to improve the betterment of justice administration and to improve the judicial infrastructure across the country and ensure that appointments in High Courts should quickly reach the logical conclusion.”

Efforts made to give good representation to young lawyers- CJI

According to the CJI, an attempt has been made to give good representation to the young lawyers who are advocating in the Supreme Court in the last few years. He said, “We are confident that the rich experience he gets in the Supreme Court actually helps to bring efficiency or increase it at the high court level.”
