Earlier, the state government had announced a assistance of Rs 10 lakh, but in view of the seriousness of the incident, the Chief Minister decided to increase this amount. CM Siddaramaiah has instructed the officials to give this compensation to the affected families as soon as possible so that they can get financial relief. Significantly, this tragedy in the stadium has shook the entire state.
11 people lost their lives
The accident occurred when a crowd of thousands gathered to go to the stadium to celebrate the IPL trophy after 18 years of RCB. According to eyewitnesses, during the celebration, suddenly the crowd became uncontrollable outside and inside the stadium, causing chaos. In this accident, 11 people lost their lives and many were injured.
Karnataka State Cricket Association Resignation of two officers
The case has taken a new turn after the accident at Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) Secretary A.K. Shankar and Treasurer E.S. Jairam has resigned from his post. Both officials have taken this step taking moral responsibility.
It is worth noting that after this accident, an FIR was registered against RCB, KSCA and event management firm DNA Entertainment Networks. After this, KSCA and RCB filed a petition in the High Court.
