The cyber police station team of Jalaun district of Uttar Pradesh has exposed a big online fraud gang. This gang used to cheat unemployed youth by pretending to job in the airport. Police have arrested 5 vicious thugs in this operation, from whom a large quantity of electronic equipment and cash have been recovered.
The cyber station in -charge received information from the informer on Saturday that some cyber criminals are waiting for the vehicle near Iklaspura intersection, Churkhi bypass road. As soon as the information was received, the police team reached the spot and arrested the five accused. The arrested accused are Dheeraj Singh, Sumit Singh, Uday Pratap Singh, Amarjeet Singh and Deepak Singh.
Used to buy the data of unemployed from companies
The inquiry revealed that these accused used to buy data from jobs from websites such as Fresherworld.com, Shinee.com and Quickr.com. After this, he used to give emails, messages and calls through fake SIM cards and pretended to the youth for airport jobs. Used to make money from the victims by making excuses like registration fees, medical tests, uniforms and training. After fraud, they used to destroy SIM cards so that they could not be detected.
Many states had cheated
During the arrests, the police have recovered 2 laptops, 10 mobile phones, 7 debit/credit cards, 9 SIM cards and 6,500 cash. When the IMEI numbers of mobile phones and SIM cards were checked on NCRP (National Cybercrime Reporting Portal), it was found that more than 50 cyber cheats have been registered against these accused in many states including Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Kerala, Maharashtra, Manipur, Haryana, Karnataka, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
Additional Superintendent of Police Pradeep Kumar Verma said that the crime history of all the accused is being investigated and the process of sending them to jail has been started. This action has given a big success to the police against cyber fraud.
