In Alwar, Rajasthan, the police has busted a vicious gang who cheated people in the name of selling cheap laptops. This gang used to sit in the fields and cheat educated people through social media and mobile. In just 1550, the accused used to lure to give laptops and used to make money from people by booking in 299.
Fraud in the name of booking
Sadar police station police had received information from the informer about this gang that some youths are planning to cheat in village Mundia Kheda Chirkhana area. On the basis of information, the police raided the spot and caught three youths, including two minors. The main accused arrested has been identified as Mundia Kheda Chirkhana, resident of Naved son Hanif.
The police have recovered a mobile phone from the accused, in which many evidence related to the fraud has been found. Initial investigation revealed that the accused and his fellow used to tell people the scheme of cheap laptops online or through phone calls and asked for an initial booking amount of Rs 299. After this neither laptop was sent nor calls were answered.
Fraud used to sit in the fields
The gang targeted people especially from rural and urban areas who were less familiar with technology and got caught quickly in the greed of cheap electronic products. According to the police, complaints of cyber fraud had been received against this gang earlier.
Sadar police station in -charge Ramesh Saini and Vijay Mandir Police Station, while jointly action, arrested three accused. The police is now investigating the network, bank accounts and other technical means of the accused. Cases of potential other fraud are also being investigated. At present, the questioning of the three accused is going on and soon the possibility of arrest of other colleagues is being expressed.
