The conspiracy behind the terrorist attack in Pahalgam in Kashmir Valley is slowly coming out. The Jammu and Kashmir Police has arrested an overground worker who met the terrorists four times. They were provided with logistics help to them. He was given a mobile phone charger. The 26 -year -old accused is named Mohammad Yusuf Katari, who is a teacher by profession.
According to central investigative agencies, Mohammad Yusuf Katari has confessed in interrogation that he met three terrorists involved in the Pahalgam attack four times from Suleman alias Asif, Jibran and Hamza Afghani. Not only this, he also gave him an Android mobile phone charger, which later proved to be the most important link to the investigation. Through that, the police has reached him.
In fact, during the anti-terrorism campaign ‘Operation Mahadev’ launched in July, the three terrorists were eliminated in the foothills of the Jabaron hills on the outskirts of Srinagar. There was also a partially burnt mobile charger in the material found by the police from the spot. This minor evidence took the police to the network, which was part of the conspiracy of Pahalgam attack.
In the forensic investigation, the police got important clues from the serial number and connectivity data of the mobile charger. When the Srinagar police traced it, the real owner of the charger was found out. He sold it to a dealer. From there, the investigation team reached Mohammad Yusuf Katari, adding the second link from there. He was arrested in the last week of September.
A police officer said that the accused used to work to teach nomadic students living in high areas, but used to perform responsibility like guiding terrorists and gathering goods for them. It is being told that he not only provided mobile phone charger, but also helped the attackers of Pahalgam to pass through the hill paths.
Mohammad Yusuf Katari was in touch with big terrorists like Suleman alias Asif, Jibran and Hamza Afghani. Suleman was the mastermind of the Pahalgam attack. Jibran was involved in the Sonamarg tunnel attack in October 2024. Hamza Afghani was involved in many small terrorist operations. The three were killed in an encounter on 29 July under ‘Operation Mahadev’.
