Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari said on Sunday (July 13, 2025) that if the system wants discipline, it is necessary to resort to the court against the government. Addressing the function ‘Prakash Deshpande Smriti Kushal Constituent Award’ in Nagpur, Gadkari said that many times the order of the court is done, which the government could not get themselves done.
Nitin Gadkari said this big thing
Senior BJP leader Nitin Gadkari said, “Some people in the society should file petitions against the government in the court. This brings discipline in the leaders and the system, because many times the ministers are not able to do the work that makes the court order. The popular politics comes in the way.”
This statement of Nitin Gadkari has come at a time when there is often a debate in the country that ordinary citizens have to resort to the judiciary for their rights. Gadkari’s statement is being seen as in power to accept the flaws of the system and recognize the strength of the court.
“The presence of aware and combative people in society is necessary”
On this occasion, Gadkari appreciated the people respected as a ‘skilled constituent’ and said that these people fought many legal battles against the government and blamed the administration. He said that the presence of such aware and combative people in the society is necessary who expose the mistakes of the system and take steps in the public interest.
The Union Minister further said that these people were working not only to protest, but in public interest. He said, “These people decided the accountability of the government through the court and proved how important citizens play in democracy.”
