New Delhi. Zimbabwe’s veteran cricketer Brandon Taylor is all set to spread his fire in international cricket once again. This star cricketer, caught in spot fixing, was requested to withdraw his retirement from the Cricket Board and play in the series against New Zealand. Taylor, who announced his retirement in 2021, has become active in coaching. He is currently asked to leave coaching and return to the national team. Taylor was banned by the ICC for spot fixing.

Why was Brendon Taylor banned?

In January 2022, 39-year-old Taylor accepted drugs and alcohol addiction and also revealed that an Indian businessman approached him for spot-fixing. Taylor claimed that he had gone to India in October 2019 on the call of a businessman. This was the excuse of the launch of a new T20 competition. He performed a dinner with the person and his colleagues where he offered cocaine which he “foolishly” accepted.

Taylor had told, “The next morning, the same people entered my hotel room and showed me a video while cocaine on the last night and said that if I did not make spot-fixing for them in international matches, the video would be made public. I was trapped. When there were 6 people in my hotel room, I was afraid of my safety. I had implicated myself.
