A film ‘Bade Mian Chhoti Mian’ brought with two of Bollywood’s two different generations (Amitabh-Govinda), with two best action stars Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff, was very much discussed. The film, released on the occasion of Eid on 2024, flopped at the box office. Due to which the makers had to suffer a lot of damage. Now the producer of this film, Vashu Bhagnani, has broken the silence regarding it.
The first film was good- Vashu
In an interview, producer Vashu Bhagnani has spoken openly about the flop of the film ‘Bade Mian Chhoti Mian’. He said that the first film of Govinda-Amitabh was very good. The second one was not well. Director Ali Abbas Zafar did not understand the title of the film. We kept saying again and again that this is a comedy film, you can add action, but at least make it action-comedy.
I made the biggest mistake- Washu
Washu said, ‘I made the biggest mistake with Ali Abbas Zafar by making’ Bade Mian Chhoti Mian Part-2 ‘. This was a very good brand of mine, people wanted to come to theaters only because of the title. When I make it again, I will get Rumi Jafri ji write a story and if David Dhawan ji does not direct it, I will ask them to produce it with me, because in terms of comedy, their brain goes very fast. ‘
The film flopped at the box office
Let us know that this film, made in a huge budget of Rs 350 crore, was able to earn only Rs 65.96 crore at the box office. Whereas it proved to be a flop by earning Rs 111.49 crore worldwide. This film was a science-fiction action instead of action-comedy. Apart from Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Manushi Chhillar and Alaya F were also in this film.
At the same time, Amitabh Bachchan and Govinda had double roles in the 1998 comedy film ‘Bade Mian Chhoti Mian’, along with Raveena Tandon, Ramya Krishnan, Anupam Kher and Paresh Rawal. Despite having a clash with Karan Johar’s film ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’, the film was a tremendous hit at the box office.
