The story looks very suspenseful in the trailer, but the attention of some cinema lovers is stuck on one particular thing. The three dead bodies seen in the trailer have a special tattoo on their wrists. People are racking their brains as to what this tattoo is and what connection it could have with the story. Let us tell…

What is this tattoo?
The plot can be understood from the trailer of ‘Paatal Lok 2’ that Jonathan Thom, the leader of a party named Nagaland Democratic Founder, has been murdered in Delhi. Imran Ansari, who was Hathiram’s junior in the first season, has now become a senior officer, which means the exam for which he was preparing has been cleared.

Ansari appoints his old partner and now junior Hathiram to investigate Thom’s murder. But the strings of this murder are directly connected to Nagaland and Hathiram also has to go there for investigation. But a different bloody game is going on in Nagaland. Which will be completely revealed in the show. There is a shot in the running trailer, in which three dead bodies have the same tattoo on their wrists.

This is a number written in Roman – XV.XII.XCVII. Those who understand Roman would know that this is a date – 12.12.1997. Now the question is, what is the secret of the plot of ‘Paatal Lok 2’ related to this date?

Nagaland December 1997
Here it should be remembered that these tattoos are on the hands of many people simultaneously and in the trailer these characters are seen continuously committing violence. This means that there is every chance that the characters in the story are trying to take revenge for some incident that happened on 15th December 1997 and this tattoo has been done in the style of ‘the motive is not to forget’. The question is, does history mention any such incident in December 1997 which can become a plot capable of creating political or social conflict in a big show?

The answer to this is a bit long and lies in understanding the continuing violence in Nagaland. Before the country became independent in 1947, the tribal groups living on the Naga Hills formed ‘Naga Club’ by electing their own leaders. This club submitted a memorandum to the Simon Commission of the British Government (the same Simon Commission of ‘Simon Go Back’) asking that they should be left alone to decide their future. However, this did not happen completely and the tribal groups living on the Naga Hills fought violently with the British. When the country became independent in 1947, this area became part of Assam state.

Nagaland embroiled in continuous violence
In the immediate post-independence era, the Naga Club was replaced by a new organization, the Naga National Council, whose objective was to demand its interests from the departing British rule and the Indian government. And as was happening in many parts of the country at that time, one of these factions started its own separate nationalist movement in which there was a lot of violence. Ultimately the Indian government sent the army and separated Naga Hills from Assam. After negotiations between Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru and the Naga People’s Convention in 1960, the state of Nagaland came into existence.

The Naga National Council gave up violence in 1975 and signed a peace agreement with the Government of India in Shillong. But some leaders of the Naga National Council did not agree with this peace agreement and they formed a new organization – Naga Socialist Council of Nagaland (NSCN). This organization also started running a Naga Federal Government, which had its own armed forces.

In 1988, the new organization also divided into two parts – NSCN-IM and NSCM-K. In July 1997, the Indian government signed a ceasefire agreement with them, the terms of which were finalized in December. But NSCN-K broke the agreement. A part of this, NSCN-R, separated in 2015 because it does not support violence.

Since independence, violence has continued between Naga groups and Kuki groups. Even in 1997, there were several incidents of bloody clashes between these groups. Naga groups have been fighting with other small groups also.

back to the point
The Naga leader Jonathan Thom who was murdered in the story of ‘Paatal Lok 2’ was a leader who raised his voice for his people, this is clear from the name of his party. He was in Delhi and the scene of a state embassy is also seen in the trailer, which means he was not a person directly involved in violence against the government.

In the trailer, a photo of a girl is seen, whose features are described as North-East while writing ‘wanted’ in this murder. That is, there is every chance that there could be an angle of violent factions that separated from NSCN at the time of peace agreement with India in December 1997. There is another chance, related to the Kuki-Naga conflict, but for this there is no need to show Jonathan Thom as the leader of any ‘Democratic Party’. Watch the trailer of ‘Paatal Lok 2’ here:

What is the real plot, it will be understood only on January 17, when the show will be released. Along with Jaideep Ahlawat in ‘Paatal Lok 2’, Gul Panag and Ishwak Singh are there, who were also in the first season. This time Tilottama Shome is also playing an important role in the show.
