She was spending her life comfortably in the coastal city of Israeli, when the Israeli-Iran war started.
On Sunday morning, an Iranian missile demolished the building next to his house, killing nine people and injured dozens. Hundreds of people including Kurakova were damaged in this attack.
This was Iran’s deadliest attack in the seven -day struggle, which started on Friday. In the early hours of Friday, Israeli carried out airstrikes targeting the Iranian atoms and military sites as well as top generals and nuclear scientists. Iran has fired around 450 missiles and hundreds of drones in retaliation.
After the air strike, 250 people, including Kurakova, were taken out of Bet Yam and held at a hotel in the capital Tel Aviv. In the hotel room, she cries after remembering the Kurakova attack.

30 thousand Ukrainians have come to Israel after escaping from Russian attack
According to Israeli’s Aliyah and Integration Ministry, Kurakova is one of the about 30,000 Ukrainians who have made Israel their home since the Russian war started in Ukraine. Half of these Ukrainians have gained citizenship through their Jewish heritage.
Kurakova has not been able to get citizenship of Israel. When Russia attacked in early 2022, Kurakova kept hiding from the attacks for a month and then left the house via Poland. Some of her friends lived in Israel and there were some professional contacts with the help of which she reached Israel.
According to Israeli media, five Ukrainians of a family have been killed in the Bet Yam attack. These people came to Israel to avoid war and to treat the girl suffering from their seven years of blood cancer.
People of the former Soviet Union also live in large numbers in Bet Yam, many of which came in the early 1990s. And when the war started in Ukraine, Ukrainian started settling at this place because he got cultural familiarity here. Bet Yam Tel is located near Tel Aviv but the cost of living here is less than the capital Tel Aviv.
More than a year after Kurakova came to Israel, Palestinian organization Hamas attacked the southern part of the country, causing a war in the Gaza Strip. She was scared in the early days after Hamas’s attack on 7 October 2023. The fight was taking place in only 60 kilometers south. And a few days later, he was clearly heard of the sound of blasts coming from Gaza.
But she did not know that a blast would destroy her house.
In the fight between Israel and Iran, 24 people have been killed and hundreds have been injured in Israel. According to Israeli officials, Iranian missiles have attacked 40 places including apartment buildings, offices and a hospital. There are frequent siren voices in Israel, due to which people are being forced to hide.
Israeli airstrikes continue in Iran too
Israel is bombing heavily in Iran and has continued the airplane on the capital Tehran. The people of Tehran are spending the night under the metro stations and thousands of people are migrating. According to the Iranian Human Rights Group in Washington, more than 600 people including more than 200 citizens have been killed and more than 1,300 injured in Iran.
Kurakova said that recent attacks are reminding him of the early days of the Russian invasion. She says, ‘I still have dreams in which I feel that I am hidden and running from drones, running away from bombs and looking for a place to hide.’
The Iranian attack in Bet Yam broke the windows of the houses and the walls of the second floor of Kurakova were damaged.
Kurakova’s mother is still living in a Russian -occupied area in the Donetsk region of Ukraine. He has told his daughter to leave Israel and go somewhere else. Kurakova has not yet decided what to do, where to go.
Kurakova said, ‘I feel scared both inside and outside.’ She further said that she used to trust Israel’s air defense system but now her trust has also become weak.
He said, ‘Because of which I left Ukraine, the thing is bothering me here too.’
