The Supreme Court has stayed the action against Rahul Gandhi in Lucknow court in objectionable remarks about the army. On Monday (August 4, 2025), the court sent a notice to the complainant and the UP government on the demand to cancel the case.
During the visit of India in the year 2022, Rahul gave a controversial statement that Indian soldiers are beating at the hands of Chinese soldiers. A defamation case has been registered in Lucknow MP MLA court regarding this.
During the hearing, the Supreme Court made an interesting comment saying, ‘You are the Leader of the Opposition. Why did you speak on social media instead of raising questions in Parliament. How do you know that China has consumed 2000 km of land. When there is a tension on the border, no true Indian will say such a thing.
