Former British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak was threatened with death by a man. The accused sent him an email threatened. Now the 21 -year -old man was sent to jail. This person named Liam Shaw sent these emails in June last year. Liam has accepted his crime. He has been sentenced to 14 weeks jail and resting order for two years.
Liam Shaw, who hails from Bircanhead in Mercyside, North-West England, sent two threats and objectionable emails on the public parliamentary email of Rishi Sunak.
According to the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), these emails were seen by Sunak’s personal assistant and informed the police. Senior CPS prosecutor Matthew Dixon said that there is no place for racial misconduct today.
Arrest after investigation of the case …
The police discovered these emails sent from mobile phones and arrested Liam Shaw on September 3, 2024. After the arrest, he claimed that he could not remember to send an email and he was probably drunk. Later, he was taken to a police station in Liverpool, where he did not make any statement. He was charged two allegations of sending objectionable and threatening messages through public communication network.

Case reached court …
Last month, when Shaw appeared in the Liverpool Magistrate Court, he accepted both the allegations. Subsequently, the court sentenced him to 14 weeks jail, which was suspended for 12 months with certain conditions. He will also have to complete a 20 -day rehabilitation activity and six months intoxication course. The court has also imposed a two -year resting order on him, under which he cannot have any contact with the sage Sunak or his office for this period.
