In the case of theft of 50 lakh rupees in the house of a bullion merchant in the fort of Chhattisgarh, the police has got a big success. Five members of the interstate thief gang have been arrested in this case. Police have recovered 332 grams of gold, 3.3 kg silver, 9.76 lakh cash and Splendor bike from the accused. The stolen goods were hidden by burning in the ground.
According to the report, the theft took place on the night of 24 June in a house in Mahavir Colony. The thieves broke into the house by breaking the window and stole cash and precious jewelry and escaped. The police had registered a case under Section 331 (4), 305 BNS in Kotwali police station and started investigation.
SSP Vijay Aggarwal said that a joint team of Kotwali police station and ACCU was formed for investigation. The team searched the CCTV footage installed around the scene, in which two suspects riding on a splendor bike were seen. He was identified as Ranjit Dhare (Rajnandgaon) and Roshan Markande (Nagpur).
With the help of cyber cell, the location of both was found in Kikarajbod, from where they were arrested. During interrogation, he confessed theft and told that the silver jewelry sold to Akash Soni (Nagpur) and the rest of the goods are hidden near Yogeshwari alias Jugri Markande (Khairagarh) and Ravi Shankar Banjare (Rajnandgaon).
The police recovered gold and silver and cash buried in the ground with DSMD technology. The criminal history of Ranjit Dahre, Roshan Markande, Yogeshwari alias Jugri, Ravi Shankar Banjare and Akash Soni has also come out.
