Türkiye is constantly strengthening its relations with Pakistan amid stress from India. During the India-Pakistan struggle in May, Turkey openly helped Pakistan and Pakistan tried to harm India by using drones made in Türkiye. Now two top Turkish delegations have reached Pakistan late on Tuesday night. A delegation consists of Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and the other in Defense Minister Yasar Guler who will talk on further deepening the defense relations of Pakistan-Turkish. After the recent tension, India remains eyeing the defense relations of Pakistan-Turkish.
In the pictures released in the Pakistani media, it is clear that Turkish Defense Minister Guler has made landing in Pakistan on the same airbase with the Turkish delegation, which was attacked by India’s missiles during Operation Sindoor in May.
When the Turkish delegation came to Pakistan, the Pak Foreign Ministry said in a statement, ‘Major matters of mutual interests will be discussed. The journey shows a deep brotherhood between Pakistan and Türkiye, which is based on shared values, mutual respect and long history of friendship.
According to a report by Pakistan’s local newspaper ‘The News’, important issues of mutual interests will be discussed during the meetings of Türkiye and Pakistani ministers.
Pakistan-Arishless relations became stronger after Indo-Pak struggle
Turkey fiercely supported Pakistan when India started Operation vermilion on 7 May against Pakistan in response to the Pahalgam attack on 22 April. There was a struggle in both countries for four days but tension is still going on.
A week after the India-Pakistan struggle ended, on May 18, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan visited Pakistan. During this, he also met Pakistan Army Chief General Asim Munir.
Diplomatic sources in Islamabad and Turkey say that the Turkish delegation will stay in Pakistan one day and will meet Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir.
It is being written in the local media of Pakistan that at a time when Turkey has emerged as Pakistan’s second largest weapon supplier, Turkish ministers will negotiate more strengthening of bilateral defense cooperation.
A Turkish report reported, “Turkey completed 11% of Pakistan’s total weapons requirements by exporting weapons and ammunition worth $ 2.1 million in 2023.”

The increase in defense relations between Türkiye and Pakistan is a matter of concern for India as Pakistan attacked India with drones of Turkish origin during the fight with India. Pakistan used Turkish Bycutter TB 2, Biker YHA III Kamikage drone and Sonagatri, Eatri Micro-Dron to attack India. However, India failed Pakistan’s drone attacks through air defense systems.
