The tension between Elon Musk and Donald Trump is now turning into political conflict. Meanwhile, a senior MP from Russia has offered Musk to give ‘political asylum’ in Russia. This step is reminiscent of high-profile security given by Kremlin in the past.
Russia offers political asylum
The first vice -president of the International Affairs Committee of the Russian Parliament (Duma), Dimitri Novikov, told Russia’s official news agency TASS that Russia can consider shelter if Musk wants.
Novicov said, “Musk’s game is completely different, he will not need any political asylum, but if it is, Russia can definitely give him refuge.” He also cited the refuge given to Edward Snowden in this statement.
Elon Musk in controversies
This comment has come at a time when there is uproar in America’s politics. Former Trump’s former advisor Steve Bainon called Musk as an ‘illegal migrant’ and demanded seizing his exile and SpaceX. Musk’s threat to closure its dragon spacecraft (which is between NASA and ISS) recently raised concern over the US national security, which has intensified the government’s demand for intervention.
Russia told America’s internal matter
However, Kremlin spokesman Dimitri Peskov described Russia as a different controversy and said, “This is the internal matter of America, and we will not interfere in it.” But the history of Russia says something else. Apart from Edward Snowden, many Western critics like British blogger Graham Philips have been sheltered by Russia before.
Sometimes there was close to each other, now the rift in relationships
Cracks in Trump-Mascul relations have created a stir in Washington. The relationship between the two, who was once close to each other, deteriorated when Musk stood against Trump’s expenses bill. In response, Trump attacked Musk, saying that Musk’s ‘brain has deteriorated’ and indicated that he could review the contracts with SpaceX government.
Later, Trump softened his stance and said, ‘I just wish him all the best’, but the danger is still not postponed. At the same time, Musk also pacified his attitude and withdrew the threat to shut down the NASA mission.
