Mission Sudarshan Chakra: The Indian Army has issued a tender to the State Old Advanced Weapon and Equipment India Limited (Aweil) to buy AK 630 Air Defense Gun System under the ambitious National Security Initiative Mission Sudarshan Chakra announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Independence Day.
Defense officials told ANI that the Army has released RFP (Request for Proposal) for the purchase of six AK 630 air defense gun systems.
Officials gave information
According to officials, this system will be 30 mm multi -barrel mobile air defense gun, whose firing rate will be very fast. This weapon will be used for protecting the major population and religious places near the International Border and Line of Control from dangerous attacks like UAVS, rocket, artillery and mortar (URAM).
This gun system will be mounted on the trailer and toes from a vehicle with high dynamics. Its effective range will be up to 4 kilometers and its cyclic firing rate will be up to 3,000 rounds per minute. The system will have the ability to detect and target the target through the All Weather Electro Optical Fire Control System.
Testing was done in May
The Army conducted an internal test of AK 630 in May, which took place immediately after the conflict with Pakistan. In tests, the system effectively destroyed the training air goals, although some areas of improvement were also identified. During the four -day border struggle of the year, Pakistan had directly attacked citizens and religious places in the border states of Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Gujarat and Rajasthan. During this time, the army’s air defense along with the Indian Air Force played an important role in stopping these attacks.
Iron will work like dome
The Mission Sudarshan Chakra has been partially modeled like Israel’s famous Iron Dome. It aims to create a comprehensive, multi -level, indigenous security shield for India by 2035, in which monitoring, cyber security and air defense systems will be integrated. This mission will not only provide the layer of defense, but will also develop potential aggressive capacity, and will help in increasing self -sufficiency in defense technology under the self -sufficient India initiative.
