Another player is being entered in the Indian satellite communication sector. VI and Ast Spacemobile have announced a strategic partnership. Both will work to improve mobile connectivity. Especially in the places which are still not connected. Ast Spacemobile has recently shown the demo of space broadband network technology.
The company has made the first video and voice calls using a standard mobile phone from space. This success has shown the capacity of the company’s space based cellular broadband network in real life. This network has been designed in such a way that you can use it directly from your smartphone.
Why is this partnership special?
A major feature of AST spacemobile is to connect the network directly to the smartphone. For this, you will not need any special software, device support or update. This space based cellular brandband ecosystem will get the option to improve the existing connectivity of VI.

Under this agreement between the two companies, AST spacemobile will have to manage development, manufacturing and satellite network. On the other hand, VI will handle the Terrestrial Network Integration, Operation Spectrum and Market Access in India.
With this collaboration, India will reach the first line in the world’s space technology innovation. Apart from this, VI and AST spacemobile will jointly plan commercial offering (customers, enterprises and IOT applications) for different sectors.
