After a debate for more than 12 hours, the Waqf (Amendment) Bill, 2024, passed the Lok Sabha late Wednesday night by a majority. While all the NDA parties are welcoming the passage of the bill, all the opposition parties have criticized it. Now the response of Congress leader Sonia Gandhi has also come out about this.
At the meeting of the Congress Parliamentary Party meeting, Congress leader and MP Sonia Gandhi said, “Yesterday, Waqf Amendment Bill, 2024 was passed in the Lok Sabha, and today it is to be introduced in the Rajya Sabha. The bill was effectively passed. Our party’s position is clear. This Bill is a shameless attack on the constitution.
Crores of gold in temples use it- Avhad
NCP (SP) MLA Jitendra Avhad has reacted sharply to the Waqf Amendment Bill. Avhad said, ‘Why does the government want to enter someone’s religious work? Now we will enter the lands of Christian .. It is not the government’s job to go into someone’s religion. The gold of crores of rupees in Indian temples, which does not work, will the government nationalize it? Use that gold .. Make hospitals, schools with that gold .. These people do not have to do any work, only Hindu Muslims have to do.

Samajwadi Party MP Ram Gopal Yadav said on the passage of the Bill in the Lok Sabha, “There is an illegitimate bill .. Our stand will not change .. This bill is illegitimate for us. We consider the Waqf Bill inappropriate. All the land of the country has been given to big industrialists. Now now the same land is intended to give this land to the same industrialists.”
Shinde targeted Uddhav
At the same time, Maharashtra Deputy CM Eknath Shinde has targeted Uddhav Thackeray for the Waqf Bill. He said, ‘Uddhav faction leaves the field .. We have taken an open role. People should benefit from Waqf land. The Uddhav group should decide with courage and do not do double politics. Bal Thackeray would have been sad to see his son’s ideology. We are advancing Bal Thackeray’s ideology.
