Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra surrounded the Modi government on Tuesday (July 29, 2025) during the debate in the Lok Sabha, speaking on the Pahalgam terror attack and operation vermilion. At the beginning of her speech, Priyanka Gandhi bowed to the soldiers of the country and appreciated her contribution in maintaining the integrity of the country. After this, Priyanka Gandhi said that 26 people were openly killed by terrorists in Pahalgam. There the countrymen went back to the Modi government and the government had left him to trust God. There was not a single security personnel present there for an hour from the time of the terrorist attack, while 1,000 to 1,500 tourists used to come there.
He directly blamed Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and National Security Advisor (NSA) for this security lapse. At the same time, he described the big failure of the Modi government and intelligence agencies regarding the terrorist attack.
Priyanka Gandhi raised questions about ceasefire
Priyanka Gandhi also raised many serious questions about the ceasefire with Pakistan. He said that for the first time in the history of the country, the war stopped in the middle and it was announced by the Prime Minister of India, but by US President Donald Trump.
Priyanka Gandhi, while surrounded by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, also questioned his statement in which he said, “Pakistan had no option but to come to India’s shelter.” He asked, “Why did the Modi government take shelter?” He said, “Terrorists come to India and kill people and the Modi government is giving shelter to Pakistan. The Home Minister in his speech talked about Nehru, Indira Gandhi and reached Sonia Gandhi’s tears, but did not say why the sudden operation was stopped between the struggle?” She also said that her mother (Sonia Gandhi) tears fell when her husband (Rajiv Gandhi) was martyred by the terrorists.

The Congress General Secretary further said, “If the purpose of Operation Sindoor was to teach Pakistan a lesson, then perhaps this motive is still incomplete.” He also described the Modi government’s diplomacy as a failure. As a proof of this, he cited lunch with the US President of Pakistani General after Operation Sindoor and to be elected Pakistan as the chairman of the United Nations Committee. He said that this has shocked the purpose of ending terror. He also asked that if the Indian fighter aircraft did not suffer damage, then what are the fear in responding in the House? He said, “The Modi government tries to avoid questions all the time. When the government is false and cowardly, it also weakens the courage and valor of the brave army.”
At the same time, Priyanka Gandhi gave the example of her grandmother former Prime Minister Shaheed Indira Gandhi, saying, “He fought US President Nixon with successful diplomacy, divided Pakistan and made Bangladesh and got one lakh Pakistani soldiers surrendered.”
3 years to declare TRF as a terrorist organization- Priyanka
Priyanka Gandhi also surrounded the Modi government for a delay of three years in declaring TRF who took responsibility for the attack as a terrorist organization. He said that the Union Home Minister counted about 25 terrorist attacks during the UPA rule. But TRF carried out 25 attacks in Kashmir alone from 2020 to 2025.

On mentioning the Mumbai attack on behalf of the leaders of the ruling party, the Congress General Secretary said that at that time the Chief Minister of Maharashtra and the Home Minister of the country had resigned taking responsibility. The terrorists were killed during the attack. A terrorist was hanged in 2012.
