The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed chargesheets against four people, including Khalistan supporters, on charges of involvement in a grenade attack at Jalandhar, a former Punjab minister. Officials gave this information on Sunday (October 05, 2025).
The chargesheet filed in a charge sheet filed in a Chandigarh court on Saturday (October 04, 2025), Saidul Amin, resident of Amroha in Uttar Pradesh and Abhijot Jangra, resident of Kurukshetra in Haryana and two absconding accused are included. The absconding accused have been identified as Kulbir Singh Sidhu, a resident of Yamunanagar in Haryana and Manish alias Kaka Rana, a resident of Karnal.
Terrorist gang prepared to target leaders
The premises of former minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader were attacked on the night of April 7, 2025. A few days later, on April 12, the investigation was handed over to the NIA. A statement issued by the NIA said that Sidhu, a member of the banned terrorist organization Babbar Khalsa International (BKI), along with his colleague Manish formed a terrorist gang to target prominent leaders of Punjab.
He said that its main objective was to create an atmosphere of fear among the people, so that money can be raised for BKI through recovery. The statement said that Manish later admitted Amin, who threw a grenade at the former minister’s house. The investigating agency said that Amin was given by Grenade Sidhu, while Jangra had provided funds.
‘Red Corner’ notice issued against Sidhu
According to the statement, Sidhu broadcast a poster after the attack, in which he took the responsibility of plotting with Manish. A ‘Red Corner’ notice has been issued against Sidhu and there is a reward of Rs 10 lakh on his arrest.
The NIA had earlier filed a charge sheet against Sidhu in a case related to his murder targeting Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) leader Vikas Prabhakar in Punjab in April 2024. The statement said that the anti -terrorism agency has intensified its efforts to detect and arrest the fugitives and identify other members of BKI active in India.
