With the beginning of the new year, Delhi and Bihar have now entered the election year. Assembly elections can be held in the capital next month, while elections in Bihar are likely to be held by October-November. The political battle between the parties is going to be fierce in both the states because BJP wants to end three decades of exile in Delhi and come to power, whereas in Bihar, removing Nitish Kumar, who is standing with NDA, from the chair will prove to be a big challenge for the Grand Alliance. Two election slogans are gaining momentum in both the states, but will the message emanating from these slogans get public support?

Who is the Bahubali of Bihar?

If we talk about Bihar, then the name should be only of Nitish Kumar… It is clear from the recent slogan of JDU that Nitish Kumar knows very well every skill of staying in power. Nitish, who is known as the master of change politics, has become the Chief Minister of the state 8 times till now and is ready to strike again this time. Even though BJP is a bigger party than JDU in Bihar, Nitish Babu is occupying the CM’s chair. BJP has so far failed to form the government on its own, that is why the party has to take the help of small parties like JDU, LJP (Ram Vilas) and HAM.

Before every election in Bihar, there is speculation about Nitish changing sides and this time too it is the same. Recently, when Deputy CM Vijay Sinha called upon BJP workers to form the government on their own, in response the opposition party RJD also offered Nitish Kumar to become a part of the grand alliance. In such a situation, JDU may have nineteen seats compared to BJP but Nitish Kumar will always remain twenty-four in the elections. In this slogan of JDU also, Nitish has been described as the biggest leader of Bihar.

On the other hand, the RJD led grand alliance is continuously struggling to gain power. Tejashwi Yadav is attacking the NDA government on issues ranging from BPSC students to caste census and law and order. The message from JDU’s posters before the elections is clear that without Nitish, the ladder of power cannot be climbed in Bihar. Be it with NDA or the Grand Alliance, whoever Nitish is with has the upper hand in the elections. But will the public once again express confidence in the NDA government or give a chance to the Grand Alliance, the answer to this will be known in the coming few months.

What is in the heart of Delhi?

Similarly, Arvind Kejriwal led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has been in power in Delhi for a decade. To remain on the chair in the future, Kejriwal is announcing schemes focusing on women and the elderly. The AAP government has been continuously the target of opposition regarding freebies in Delhi, but Kejriwal has liked this formula very much. This is the reason why the party has secured more than 60 seats twice in Delhi, which has 70 assembly seats.

Arvind Kejriwal also had to go to jail after recent corruption allegations. Not only this, top party leaders like Manish Sisodia, Satyendra Jain, Sanjay Singh have also been in jail. Kejriwal came out on bail and resigned from the post of CM and before going to the elections, appointed Atishi as the CM of Delhi. But he has already made it clear that Delhi elections will be fought under his leadership. Also, if Kejriwal returns to power, he will also become the Chief Minister.

A new slogan has also been given by Kejriwal’s party, ‘We will not let the condition of Delhi deteriorate, Kejriwal will bring it again’. Aam Aadmi Party has been continuously accusing BJP that if Kejriwal leaves power then BJP will again increase the prices of electricity and water and will make everything expensive. The party also takes all these issues before the public and the party claims that if BJP comes to power, then all the free facilities provided to the people of Delhi will be stopped. This slogan of the party also seems to convey the same message.

On the other hand, BJP is directly accusing Kejriwal and AAP of making false promises including corruption. Also, BJP alleges that Kejriwal is making new promises to the public before the elections without fulfilling the old promises, which are never going to be fulfilled. Even after being in power at the Center for 10 years, BJP has not been able to do wonders in Delhi, although the party is in control of all seven seats in the Lok Sabha. But in Delhi, BJP has been fighting to get the post of Chief Minister for the last three decades. On the other hand, Congress has also separated from the Grand Alliance in Delhi and started an open war against AAP. Fighting with AAP and BJP is going to prove to be a big challenge for the party in the upcoming elections.
