Controversy has arisen with the social media post of a resident of Satna, who threatened to kill the famous saint Premanand Maharaj of Vrindavan. In a comment on Facebook, the young man spoke of the “throat” of the saint, which became increasingly viral. Devotees and social organizations of Rewa and Satna districts have expressed sharp opposition to this objectionable remarks and demanded strict action against the accused.
The young man is angry with the comment on boyfriend-girlfriend
The whole matter is related to the viral video of Premanand Maharaj in which he advised the youth to live a moral and decent life. In the video, he expressed concern over the growing trend of boyfriend-girlfriend, breakup and patchup. Reacting to this, a young man named Satna resident Shatrughan Singh, a resident of Satna, wrote in a Facebook post on Thursday, “If I used to speak about my house, I would have been Premanand or someone else, I would cut his throat.”
As soon as this post went viral, resentment spread among religious and social organizations. Hundreds of devotees, condemning this vulgar remarks, have filed an FIR on the concerned youth and demanded him to arrest him.
At the same time, in this case, Superintendent of Police of Satna Ashutosh Gupta has said that no formal complaint has been received in this subject. If a complaint is received, strict action will be taken as per rules.
Organizations say that this type of disgusting comment towards saints is going to spread disharmony in the society and the administration should take immediate cognizance of it.
Vrindavan’s famous saint Premanand Maharaj is often in discussion on social media due to his discourses. During a recent discourse, he said that those who want to leave all their responsibilities and work only in devotion, are not a true devotee but lazy and doodle. Saint Premanand Maharaj clarified, “Devotion to God is necessary, but even more important to follow your worldly duties honestly.”
