Police arrested three accused in the late night grenade attack case in the temple located in Khandwala area of Amritsar. The accused were involved in the supply of weapons and grenades. Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said that these three youths were arrested from Bihar when they were trying to flee to Nepal.
Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said that an FIR was registered on March 7, in which 2 accused were arrested and heroin was recovered from the accused. During the investigation, the names of three youths came out- Karna, Mukesh and Sajan. Karna was associated with VKI and used to supply weapons. We reached Madhepura in Bihar, following Karna and arrested the three accused.
Gurpreet Singh Bhullar told that the police is bringing the accused from Bihar. These people were supplying grenade, information about their locations has also been found. He said that ever since the campaign was conducted against drugs, the police have suspected that these people were carrying out such activities. The place where these explosions took place are from there. Bhullar said that the accused will be strictly questioned.
The accused were trying to leave India
According to the police commissioner, the three accused were trying to flee to Nepal from Bihar, but before that the police caught them. Now he is being intensively questioned, which is likely to make even more big revelations.
Explosion outside the temple, local people in panic
Explain that a blast occurred outside a temple in Khandwala area of Amritsar early Saturday, causing damage to the temple walls and shattered the glass of the windows. However, there were no casualties in this incident, but panic has spread among the local people.
2 people seen in CCTV footage
In CCTV footage, 2 unidentified people are seen coming to the Thakur Dwar temple on a motorcycle. After stopping for a few seconds, one of them throws explosive material towards the temple and then both escape from there.
Police engaged in investigation
Amritsar Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said that the priest of the temple gave information about the incident at around 2 pm. As soon as the information was received, he and other senior officials reached the spot.
