Scientists have described the lights seen in the sky of the Himalayas as ‘red spright’. It is a kind of electric variety which is very rare. Usually it is far above the clouds, at a height of 65-90 km from the Earth’s surface.
It usually has a red colored, a lightning shine for a few moments. Which appears in a tent -like shape. Sometimes green colored lines are also seen in its upper part.
China Astrophotographers not only took pictures of 105 red sprights. Rather, 6 secondary jets and four ‘Ghost Sprites’ were also recorded. It is being told that Ghost Sprites have been seen for the first time on the continent of Asia.
How did this light become?
Scientists found in research that these sprite was caused by a very powerful lightning, which reached the ground from above the clouds. This lightning originated from a huge stormy system, also known as Mesoscal Convective Complex. Which covers more than 2 lakh square kilometers from the Ganges ground to the Tibetan plateau.

Due to the sprite, the electricity was mostly positive and had a sharp peak current, which was more than 50 kg. Such electricity is usually seen in the great storms coming in the Great Places of America and the coastal areas of Europe.

It was not easy to find out what was seen in the sky of the Himalayas. However, scientists studied for about three years and found out the mysterious thing. For this, scientists used new techniques. The video frame was mixed with the movement of the satellite and the position of the stars in the sky. With this, scientists recognized the power events behind the sprite. With this, about 70 percent of the sprite could be linked with their real lightning. That is, the real source could be detected.
This mystery has been solved by scientists after three years. This will help them understand the process of energy between the atmosphere and the Earth in the coming time.
