Board representatives will meet Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu on 14 February and demand the removal of non-Hindus from the services of temples.

The Andhra Pradesh BJP on Thursday demanded the removal of 1 thousand non-Hindu employees from Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) in Andhra Pradesh. Andhra Pradesh BJP spokesperson and TTD member Bhanu Prakash Reddy said- Board representatives will meet Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu on 14 February and request non-Hindus to remove the temples of temples.

On the other hand, YSRCP Chief and former Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy refused to make a statement on the issue. He said- I do not know about it from details.

Earlier, TTD on Wednesday informed about the removal of 18 employees of the temple. All of them have been found guilty of working against the rules of TTD.

The trust has placed two conditions in front of all 18 employees, either all take transfer to another government department or take VRS (voluntary retirement). This is being done to maintain the sanctity of the temple.

TTD said in the statement-

TTD took action against which employees

We identified non -Hindu employees TTD President Naidu said- We identified some TTD employees, who are non-Hindu. These people will be requested to take VRS. If they are not ready for this, then they will be transferred to government departments like revenue, municipality or any corporation. I proposed at the board meeting on 4 February, which was unanimously accepted.

The proposal to ban political statements in Tirumala was also passed in the board meeting. It states that legal action will be taken against those who violate the TTD rules as well as those who promote political parties.

3 basis of TTD’s decision

  • The TTD Act has been amended 3 times in the last few years. It was decided that only Hindus should be appointed in the temple board and its associated institutions.
  • A government order issued in 1989 also said that only Hindus will be selected on the posts of TTD. This decision is supported by Article 16 (5) of the Constitution. Institutions of religious or communal nature have been given permission to appoint members of their own religion. Similarly, Andhra Pradesh Charitable and Hindu Religious Institutions and Settlement Subordinate Services Rules 3 states that the employees of religious institutions should follow Hinduism.
  • In November 2023, the Andhra Pradesh High Court upheld Rule 3. It clearly states that the trust board has the right to make service conditions compulsory, in which it is necessary for employees to follow Hinduism.

Tirupati world’s richest temple trust TTD maintains 12 temples. It works in 14 thousand employees. According to the report in April 2024, the temple trust had filed an FD of Rs 1161 crore in 2024. This is the highest amount of FD ever. After this, the total FD in the trust’s banks has increased to Rs 13287 crore. It is the only temple in the country which is depositing an amount of 500 crores or more in the bank year after year in the last 12 years.

Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam is one of the most famous pilgrimage centers in the world. It is situated on the Mount of Seshachalam in Andhra Pradesh. This temple of Lord Venkateswara was built by King Tondman. The temple was presented by Ramanujacharya in the 11th century.

It is believed that when Lord Venkateswara was marrying Padmavati, he took a loan from Kubera, the god of wealth. God still has that debt and devotees donate to help them in paying interest. The Tirumala temple gets about one ton of gold in donations every year.

Of these, Lord Vishnu is enthroned on the top of Vyankatadri and that is why he is known as Venkateswara.

The entire idol is seen only on Friday Balaji is seen three times a day in the temple. The first philosophy is called Vishwaroop, which is in the morning. The second darshan is in the afternoon and the third darshan is at night. The entire idol of Lord Balaji can be seen only at the time of Abhishek on Friday morning.

Lord Balaji gave Ramanujacharya to see the truth Apart from the temple of Balaji, there are many other temples, such as Akash Ganga, Papatask pilgrimage, Vaikuntha Tirtha, Jalvitirtha, Tiruchanur.
