Weather Alert: Most parts of the country are in the grip of bitter cold and dense fog. Cold is at its peak in Delhi-NCR, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and other states of North India. There is a possibility of low temperature and rain in the capital Delhi for the next few days. The weather department has predicted the first heavy rain of the year. The effect of winter has further increased due to snowfall in the hilly areas.
The effect of cold wave continues in Delhi. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of cold winds blowing throughout the day till January 10. Dense fog is expected on January 9 and 10, while light rain may occur on January 11 and 12. Due to lack of sunlight for the last few days, it is feeling cold even during the day. The Meteorological Department has also predicted moderate fog due to which visibility may be significantly reduced in some areas.
Yellow alert of fog in Punjab and Haryana
The effect of dense fog is clearly visible in Punjab and Haryana. There will be dense to very dense fog in Punjab today and cold wave will disturb throughout the day. Similar situation will continue in Haryana also. In such a situation, the Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert of fog. There is no sign of clear weather in both the states in the coming days.
Impact of winter increased due to snowfall in hilly states
Cold is at its peak in Jammu-Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh. However, the weather will be clear in Jammu and Kashmir today and no alert has been issued. Yellow alert has been issued in Himachal Pradesh due to dense fog and cold wave. At present the weather is expected to remain clear in Uttarakhand, but the temperature in the hilly areas remains in minus.
How will the weather be in UP, Rajasthan and Bihar?
The effect of cold wave and dense fog will continue in Uttar Pradesh. The Meteorological Department has predicted clear weather for the next three days, but after January 11, there may be rain in Western UP. The cold wave will continue in Rajasthan and a drop in temperature will be recorded. There is a possibility of dense fog in Bihar till January 10. The effect of fog will be especially severe in the plains of Ganga.
