Traffic challan rule: The new financial year is starting from 1 April i.e. today. If you have not yet filled your outstanding traffic challans, then you need to be careful, because your driving license can be suspended. Actually, those who do not pay the amount of their traffic e-challan within three months, their driving licenses can be suspended soon.
According to a report by News18, the government has made this plan to curb the wrong drivers. The government has found that barely 40% of the e-challan amount has been recovered. It has been largely non-compliant. Sources said that the government has also prepared a strategy to connect high insurance premiums. If someone has at least two pending challans from the last financial year, then it may have to pay more premium for his insurance.
Supreme Court order prepared details
This detail has been prepared after the Supreme Court order. In this, 23 states and seven union territories have been directed to file a compliance report indicating the implementation of electronic monitoring as per the provision in the Central Motor Vehicles Act.
The lowest fine recovery in Delhi
According to a report by TOI, in states and union territories, there are more cases of traffic rules violations, the recovery rate of penalty in Delhi is low. This is about 14 percent. This is followed by Karnataka (21%), Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh (27-27%) and Odisha (29%). Rajasthan, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Haryana are among the major states that have recorded a recovery rate of 62%-76%.
