Jitendra chaudhary BJP demands an apology: Leader of the Opposition in the Tripura Assembly Jitendra Chaudhary created a controversy by making a statement that the longer the person is, the more fool it is. The ruling BJP demanded him to publicly apologized and claimed that it was a sarcasm on former Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb. By the way, Deb had raised controversy many times with his comments during his chief minister.
Six feet long Deb is longer than the state and the leaders. Addressing a party function in Harina in southern Tripura on Sunday, Chaudhary said, “The longer a person is as stupid.” Chaudhary is the State Secretary of the Communist Party (CPI (M)) and also a member of the Polit Bureau. His comment has been taken by the BJP as a sarcasm on western Tripura MP Deb, who was the Chief Minister from 2018 to May 2022.
Demand to publicly apologize from Jitendra Chaudhary
Tripura’s Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Ratan Lal Nath on Tuesday (June 17) demanded publicly apologizing to Chaudhary for allegedly making ‘objectionable and derogatory’ comments against Deb and BJP leaders.
Nath said in the press conference, “The way the Leader of the Opposition Jitendra Chaudhary on Sunday targeted former Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb at a party program in South Tripura on his height, he is unacceptable and objectionable. Chaudhary called not only Deb, but also the BJP as an ‘fraud’ and said that there is another fraud in Assam, who was once the Health Minister and is now the Chief Minister. ”
He said, “There is no doubt that Chaudhary targeted Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. Sarma is one of the best performing chief ministers in the country. ”He said that it seems that Chaudhary is not mentally stable. He called upon the CPI (M) leaders to arrange for immediate treatment for their leader.
Trying to mislead people- Ratan Lal
Nath alleged that Chaudhary has failed to work as the leader of the Sadan and is trying to mislead people by raising the baseless issues. He said, “We had a leader of the opposition like Nripane Chakraborty of the CPI -M who did justice to his chair, but Chaudhary has failed to carry forward that legacy.” He failed to raise people’s issues in the assembly, causing damage to the common people.
When asked about Nath’s statement, Chaudhary said on Tuesday, “He (Nath) himself is mentally ill … The minister needs good treatment to get rid of his mental sickness. He always speaks on irrelevant and baseless issues. I do not see any reason to comment on the minister’s statement. ”
