Tata motors truck gets ac cabin: India’s largest commercial vehicle manufacturer Tata Motors has announced the launch of the factory-faced air conditioning system in its entire truck range. This upgrade will be found in the cabins of SFC, LPT, Ultra, Signa and Prima, as well as this facility is also being provided in the coul model. Tata Motors has also launched some Value Edition features in which power output has been increased.
In the air conditioning system, dual mode operations are being provided with eco and heavy settings. Which are designed to provide good cooling with better performance. Tata Motors has increased the power output to 320 horsepower in its heavy truck, tipper and prime mover lineup.
Rajesh Kaul, Vice President and Business Head of Truck Section at Tata Motors Commercial Vehicles, said, “The start of air-co-division cabin and cowl is an important step towards providing comfortable rides for drivers, so that they will be able to do long distance travel comfortably. For this, the company has designed the system through smart engineering according to the reactions of the customers.

Let me tell you that in July last year, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari approved the draft notification to make it mandatory to install the air conditioning (AC) system in the cabin of trucks. He had said, “Truck drivers play an important role in ensuring road safety. This decision will prove to be a milestone in providing comfortable working status for truck drivers. Which will solve the problem of fatigue of the driver along with improving their efficiency.”
Tata Motors has also upgraded its trucks with new features. This system will also provide better mileage from trucks, as well as a voice messaging system for automatic engine cut-off and real time alert. The company says that these additional facilities will make the driver’s ability to work even more, which will increase the productivity.
Let us know that, in a gazette notification in December last year, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways said that it will be mandatory to install air conditioning systems for the cabins of N2 and N3 category vehicles from or after October 1, 2025. This gazette notification also said that the cabin equipped with air conditioning systems to be given in vehicles will be tested according to IS14618: 2022.
