Prime Minister’s friend gave another shock- Congress
Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh posted on X, “A lot for Howdi Modi. A lot for Namaste Trump. Now a lot for Trump government. BJP MP, is calling Prime Minister Narendra Modi a trump card of India.” He taunted that ‘My Friend Duland’ has given another blow despite being hugged and shaking hands many times.
Jairam Ramesh questioned, “What happened to the much awaited front line seat for our Foreign Minister at Trump’s swearing -in ceremony? What happened to the Prime Minister reaching the first White House?”
‘Country policy focused on image building instead of national interest’
He said, “Tariffs are being imposed. The conversation is not moving anywhere, but Asim Munir, who played the role of Pahalgam attack, gets a afternoon feast in the White House. This happens when the foreign policy focuses on image building instead of national interest.”
US President Donald Trump said on Monday (4 August 2025) that he would increase the import duty paid by India to the US to a great extent. Trump said in one of his posts on social media, “India is not only purchasing a huge amount of oil from Russia, but is also earning huge profits by selling large parts of that oil at high prices in the open market.”
Trump said, “India does not care about how many people are killing Russia’s war machine in Ukraine. That is why I am going to increase the fees paid to America from India.”
