Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a tour of Odisha. During this, he addressed a public meeting. PM Modi said that I went to Canada two days ago for the G7 Summit. Then US President Trump called me and said that you have come to Canada, so go through Washington. Will eat food together and talk. But I told the President of America thank you for the invitation. But I have to go to Mahaprabhu’s land (Odisha). So I humbly refused his invitation. The love of your people and devotion to Mahaprabhu have brought me to this earth.
During this, PM Modi said that after independence, people in the country saw the model of Congress, but this model had neither good governance nor people’s life was easy. Development projects had to be stuck, hanging and wandering, a lot of corruption was the hallmark of the development model of the Congress, but now the country has been widely looking at the BJP’s development model for the last few years. In the last decade, there are many states of the country where BJP governments have been formed for the first time. Not only the government has changed in these states, but a new phase of social and economic changes has also started.
‘Many states are now running on the path of development’
Prime Minister Modi said that the situation was very bad in Assam till a decade ago. This was seen in Assam, volatility, isolation, violence, but today Assam is running on a new path of development. The militant activities that were going on for many decades have been closed, today Assam is overtaking other states of the country in many parameters. Similarly, I will mention Tripura. There too, after the leftist rule for many decades, people gave BJP a chance for the first time. Tripura was also lagging behind on every scale of development. Infrastructure was disturbed, people were not heard in the government system, everyone was troubled by violence and corruption, but since the BJP got the opportunity to serve, Tripura has become an example of peace and progress.
‘Double engine in Odisha did public double benefit’
Addressing the public meeting, PM Modi said that our Odisha was also struggling with many problems for decades. The poor and the farmers could not reach their full rights, corruption and the Lalfita Shahi dominated. The infrastructure here was unhappy, many areas were being left behind in development, many such challenges had become the misfortune of Odisha. In the last one year, the BJP government has worked hard to solve these problems. He said that the double engine of development which has run here is visible. The double engine in Odisha has done double benefit to the people here.
