Actor -turned -politician Thalapati Vijay’s party Tamilga Vatri Kazhagam (TVK) rally 39 people died of stampede in Karur on Saturday (September 27, 2025), while 95 people were injured, who are undergoing treatment in the hospital. Vijay has announced a compensation of Rs 20 lakh for the families of those killed in the stampede. In response to this, Stalin said, “An inquiry committee has been formed under the chairmanship of a retired judge of the High Court, which will respond after the investigation is completed. Meanwhile, as you are asking, I do not want to say anything with political purpose.”

He said, “Women and children have also died in this accident. The pain of those families cannot be gauged, who wanted to meet their star and they are no longer in this world.”
