U -turn had to be taken in the air of Air India going to Indore, returned to Delhi after engine fire – Delhi to Indore Flight Air India Emergency Landing Delhi Airport NTC

A flight of Air India, which left Delhi from Delhi, had to return to Delhi shortly after the take-off on Sunday. The airline informed that “Fire Indication” was found in the right engine of the aircraft, after which the decision was taken.

According to Air India, the incident took place with Flight AI2913, which was going from Delhi to Indore on 31 August. Soon after the take-off, the cockpit crew received a fire alert related to the right engine.

Following the standard procedure, the cockpit crew immediately shut down the engine and took the aircraft back to Delhi Airport safely. The airline said that all passengers and crew are safe and no one was hurt.

A spokesman for Air India said that the aircraft has been grounded and its technical investigation is going on. Also, an alternative aircraft has been arranged to send passengers to Indore, which will soon fly.
