After about 20 years, Uddhav Thackeray and Raj Thackeray will be on a platform today. The two leaders will attend the Vijay rally to be held at NSCI Dome in Worli, Mumbai. The program is taking place as a victory for the Maharashtra government’s decision to withdraw the three-language policy.
The two cousins were last seen together on a platform during the 2005 Malavan by -election. After that Raj Thackeray separated from the Shiv Sena in 2005 and in 2006 formed his party Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS).

Under this, the government had issued an order to make Hindi compulsory as the third language from class 1 to 5th.

Sharad Pawar and Congress leaders will not attend the rally According to media reports, NCP (SP) Chief Sharad Pawar and Maharashtra Congress President Harshvardhan will not attend the victorious rally. The Shiv Sena (UBT) ally Congress has been opposed to the three-language policy since the beginning.
Sharad Pawar said in Pune on Friday that he would not attend the rally due to a predetermined schedule. However, Supriya Sule or Jitendra Awhad will be present from her party.
The Maharashtra government made Hindi a third language till class 1-5
In fact, the Maharashtra government made Hindi the third compulsory language on 16 April this year. Students studying from class 1 to 5 can choose other Indian languages apart from Hindi as the third language. The revised order was issued on 17 June after the protest, in which Hindi was made optional.

In such a situation, another language teacher will also be appointed in the school. If the number of students choosing second language is less than 20, then that language will be taught through online medium.
