A mosque was set on fire on the night of Saturday (October 4, 2025) at Pishevan near Brighton, located on the southern coast of England. When this incident was carried out, two people were present inside the mosque.
According to the CNN report, the police has started investigating the case and the incident is being seen as a Hate Crime. A Volunteer Manager of the mosque told CNN on the condition of keeping his identity secret that two people were wearing Balaklava, who tried to break the door of the mosque. After this, he set fire on the stairs of the mosque and set fire. However, there were no casualties in this incident.
A volunteer of the mosque told the BBC, ‘This murder could also be done. But both the people inside the mosque somehow managed to get out safely.
Sussex police issued a statement regarding the case
The Sussex police issued a statement after the incident that took place in brighton. Police said that no one was hurt in the incident, no one was injured, but a vehicle parked outside the building and outside has been damaged.
Detective Superstition Carrie Bohana told the BBC about the incident, ‘We understand that this incident has created deep concern for the people of the community and its impact on the Muslim community will be serious. The police is investigating the case from both arson and hate crime.
Synagogue attacked in Manchester, two Jews killed
Two Jewish people were killed in an attack outside a Jewish Puja site Sanagog on Thursday (October 2, 2025) in Manchester, UK just before the arson incident at the mosque in Peacehevan.
The Manchester Police killed the suspect on the spot soon after the incident. The suspect has been identified as 35-year-old Jihad Al-Shami. He was a British citizen of Syrian origin.

Tariq Jung, president of Briton and Hov Muslim Forum, expressed deep concern over both the incidents in Manchester and Peshawal. He said, ‘These incidents have put everyone in deep shock and sorrow. Whether the worshiper is Jew, Christian, Hindu or Muslim, no person should be tried to harm any person in place of worship. This is absolutely unacceptable.
